The Leader of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Biraidu District of Dekina Local Government Area, Kogi State, Hon. Aruwa Yusuf, has hosted party leaders and stakeholders at his country home in Okate, Abocho area of Biraidu District, as part of the Sallah celebrations.
In his opening remarks, Hon. Aruwa Yusuf appreciated party leaders and members for remaining steadfast and committed to the vision and mission of the party despite the temporary setback experienced during the 2023 governorship election in Kogi State.
He stated that it has always been part of his routine to convene stakeholders’ meetings, especially during festive periods such as this, in order to interact with party faithful and discuss issues affecting the progress of the party.
Hon. Yusuf assured the gathering that consultations are ongoing with relevant stakeholders regarding the next political step to take, stressing that every decision would be taken in the overall interest of the people and the party.
Speaking during the gathering, one of the party leaders from Abocho, Mr. Boytoday, emphasized the need for unity, peace, and continuous progress within the party. He noted that the leadership style of Hon. Yusuf Aruwa has greatly contributed to the unity and stability currently enjoyed by the party in the district.
According to him, stakeholders who have remained committed to the party all this while are prepared to abide by whatever outcome emerges from the ongoing consultations.
He further recalled that during the last Kogi State governorship election, the Social Democratic Party (SDP) recorded overwhelming victories across Kogi East — an achievement many politicians were proud to be associated with.
“As consultations have commenced, we pray that the final outcome will be in the overall interest of the people and the party,” he stated.
The people of Biraidu District are eagerly awaiting the outcome of the ongoing consultations as political activities continue to gather momentum ahead of future engagements.
